Aha. Well you can't take anything out of something you haven't seen. I was more referring to anyone who DIDN'T like it.

But I *would* recommend that you watch it. It's wonderful.

I've been meaning to scrounge up a copy of the book ever since I saw the movie. I really want to read it. How is it?

It's really, really good. The person I consider my mentor leant it to me, and she gives me books outside what I would usually pick up for myself to read. I don't really know what else to say about it, though. I'm glad I read it, but I don't know if I'd be able to read it again.

I totally get where you're coming from. Even though I love the movie, I can't watch it very often because it's so emotionally draining. I'm preparing myself for that to be likely doubled in the book - probably one of the reasons I haven't read it yet, even though I want to.

Is it okay if I don't see it, but take from it the same lesson I got from "Grizzly Man," which is, if you go into Alaska unprepared you'll die?

Because I'm totally cool with that being the moral.

lmfao so noooot the moral of the movie. I mean, I get it. For some people, it's just not their thing. But I don't watch it to see him die - that was an unfortunate accident; he *was* prepared, he just got stranded by flooding - I watch it to see him live.

No matter how stupid/tragic the protagonist's death was, his life was incredibly beautiful. At least I thought so.

Methinks I need to watch Grizzly Man, however. That one, I have not seen.
